How does the bulk upload template work?
Simply download our catalogue template by going to the Products section of your dashboard and clicking Download Template (either as a Google Sheet or as an Excel file). Complete one row per product. Once you’re finished, click the Upload File button (also in the Products section), and these products will be created or updated in your CREOATE dashboard (please note this may take up to 24 hours, but is usually much faster). In the first tab of the template, you can find instructions to help you fill out each column correctly.
How do I know if I’ve filled in the template correctly?
If any mandatory information is missing or formatted incorrectly, you’ll receive an error message when you upload the file letting you know where you went wrong. Otherwise, you’ll see a message confirming you’ve uploaded the template correctly, and your products will be live on CREOATE within 24 hours.
How do I handle SKUs for simple and variable products?
For simple products, enter the SKU number in the ‘SKU’ column. If you have a variable product, enter the same ‘Parent SKU’ for all variant products in ‘Parent SKU’ and the product’s individual SKU in the ‘SKU’ column.
How do I add images?
Upload your images as ‘open’ links, with a maximum of four per row. To get an open link for your product image, go to any publicly available web page that contains your product images (e.g. your own website), then right click on the image and select ‘Copy image address’.
Does bulk uploading products in my catalogue override or replace my existing products?
Carrying out a bulk upload won’t delete existing products in your catalogue. But you can use it to edit existing products in your catalogue. Just make sure you use the right SKU, as this is what we’ll use to match up what you’ve entered with any existing products in your catalogue. If you enter an SKU that doesn’t match a product in your existing product catalogue, a new product will be generated.
I don’t have Excel. Can I still use the bulk upload tool?
Yes, you can. If you don’t have Excel, download the catalogue as a Google Sheet. Once you’re finished editing it, simply go File > Download > Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) to save it as an Excel file, which you can then upload to CREOATE. To upload your completed file, just go back to the Products section within your dashboard, and click ‘Upload File’.
