If you have already connected your shopify store this article will tell you what this means and how to ensure your store is set up to maximise sales!
What data will be Automatically updated when I link my Shopify and Creoate store?
1. We will create ALL of the products in your Creoate store
2. We will create the products including:
- Images
- These need to be URL's that are accessible by our API. They must be publicly available. You can test this by pasting the URL into any browser. It should take you to the image directly.
- Description
- HS codes (for tax/shipping purposes)
- Minimum Order Value (The minimum number of this product that can be ordered)
- Pack size
- SEO Tags
- Stock Tracking status (Tracked or not)
- Status (Draft / published)
- Stock levels (Inventory - taken from ALL locations in your shopify store)
What data will be manually updated when I link my Shopify and Creoate store?
Certain information must be manually 'mapped' between your shopify store and Creoate
- Variations (You will need to map each of these to existing Creoate variation types).
- For example you may have a variation type of 'second colour' whereas we will have 'secondary colour'. You will have the option after the sync has completed to how you want to map these products.
- Pricing
- We will allow you to choose your own WSP (Wholesale price) options. We assume your store is set in RRP (Recommended Retail Price) and allow you to set your wholesale price to a specific % of that.
- Product Category
- Similar to variations. We only allow a set number of categories to make it easier for our retailers to find your products. You will have to select which category best suits your store. Be as specific as possible.
What if I want some catalogue data in Creoate to not be linked to Shopify
We know that some data in Creoate you do not want to be 'overwritten' every time your shopify store is synced. For this reason we will never overwrite:
1. Product pricing. If you update the WSP or RRP of any product in Creoate we will not overwrite this with Shopify data.
2. Product categories. If you assign each of your products to a different category from the one selected when you first linked your Creoate and Shopify stores - we will not 'overwrite this data'.
How often will my products be updated
We will attempt to update your products each week. Although as of July 2025 typically catalogues are automatically synced every 2 weeks.
What if I want ALL of my catalogue data to be linked to Shopify
There is an option in our dashboard to toggle syncing of price at a catalogue level but also for individual products.
What if I have given access to other Shopify APIs
We only call the product, inventory and file APIs in order to retrieve your products and create them in our Creoate marketplace.
In future we will allow order integrations and also product 'write' options that will allow us to tell you in Shopify when orders or stock have been updated on by Creoate orders.
